Traditional Fall Decor – what does that mean to you? For me, it is all about texture and warmth. This year, my heart kept pulling me towards more traditional colours in my home. Come and see how I incorporated this into my space.
Welcome to our Cozy Fall Home Tour! I’m excited to say that I’ve teamed up with 11 other wonderfully talented ladies to inspire you with the most beautiful fall decor! You’ve likely come to me from Cynthia Harper Living’s gorgeous tour where I know she has already inspired you! I really do appreciate you stopping by. I’d also like to thank our host Sarah from Grace In My Space for all of her hard work on this tour.
First, welcome to my home. If you haven’t been by this way before, I’m so happy to have you here. My house is 128 years old and my style revolves around the little quirks of owning a home of that age and my own attitude of “come in, put your feet up and stay for a while”! So grab a cup of coffee and come on in!
Let’s start with the heart of most homes, the kitchen. First thing I did was to decide on my colours, once that was determined the rest just seems to fall into place. I started with some pretty copper and wood, which suited my mood this year and trust me, that mood changes like the tide! I love layering and decided I would layer the wood and copper with a set of cream dishes that I already had. After all, there is nothing like shopping your own home. Changing out your decor doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Just go through your home and move things around and then add what you need. Of course, I also had to add a little bit of fun to the glass cabinets, as well, with some little white wooden pumpkins and come cute decor pieces. Walmart Home always has some great deals!
Here are some similar wood and copper bowls.
I took out some of my cutting boards and added them to the back of the cook top. I think I might have a bit of a cutting board obsession, guys! You would not believe how many of these I have!
I also added a vase to my counter top and filled it with my wooden utensils, as this is what I use most when I cook. I thought, easy access would work wonderfully and trust me, I’m all about things being easy when it comes to cooking.
I changed out my blue mason jar canisters for these pretty white ones with a wooden lid.
These gorgeous twilight hydrangeas are the finishing touch. I will be drying these babies for sure!
Did you know that to keep hydrangeas looking good longer, you just need to cut the stems and put them into a vase of really hot water! They last a good week or two by doing this!
I did a really simple tablescape that would hold up to grand babies and lots of action on and around our kitchen table.
For my fall decor for the living room, I added a simple bowl with some faux vines and pumpkins to the coffee table and put out some additional pumpkins and cozy throws. Around here, there is always a throw within reach!
I decided on cream and black pillows, and to be honest with you, only because the ones I bought were just a little too big for this space and this is what I had on hand. But I’m really liking the overall feel of the space. Add some pretty fall flowers and a garland and you’ve got a cozy space.
The last space I decided to add fall decor to, was the front porch. I love having my morning coffee out there all wrapped in a cozy blanket. I posted a picture on my instagram feed of my favourite fall planter recently, and I tried to carry that inspiration into this one. How did I do?
I did try to rust that bucket but had no luck! I’ll keep trying though and let you know if I have any success. For the base of the planter, I just used a plant stand that I turned upside down.
So, that is my fall tour. I’m sure I’ll be tweaking and moving things until it is time for Christmas. Yup, I just mentioned Christmas – you all do know it is right around the corner…
If you have any questions, I’d love to answer them below! I’ll be sharing more fall tips and decor throughout the season! I’d love for you to follow along on Instagram and Pinterest
Now if you want to hop on over to the next wonderful lady on this tour, Lisa from Farmhouse On Boone, I’m sure she has some gorgeous fall decor to share as well.

So beautiful! Please tell me more about your kitchen floor. Is it vinyl? I need to redo my full downstairs and the estimate for wood was totally out of range for us.
Thank you
Thank you! It’s LVP (luxury vinyl flooring) brand is isocore and the colour is Harrison pine. We picked ours up at Home Depot. We love it!

Your fall touches as well as your home are beautiful and oh so cozy! I have a mirror similar to the one hanging in your dining room. It came from an old piece of furniture. Right now it is under my bed because I could not decide how to hang it. Please share with me how you hung that big mirror. Thanks in advance! Vicki
Hi Vicky,
This mirror goes with the chest that I refinished, in my living room. I used eye hooks on either side and then picture wire and hung it in an anchored screw.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Karan
I love the copper + wood combination! It just screams FALL to me and that gorgeous bundle of flowers in the basket adds an additional element of warmth. LOVE!!!
Thanks Tana, we are really enjoying the space. It has my wheels turning for some other spaces in my home.
